Verify a therapist before you begin
A five-minute credential check can prevent months of uncertainty.
1. Ask for the CRR number
For professions regulated by the Rehabilitation Council of India, request the professional’s Central Rehabilitation Register number and the name shown on the certificate.
2. Confirm that it is active
Check the number and professional category using the official RCI service. A number supplied by a provider is not treated as independently verified until AutDHD confirms it against the official record.
3. Match the scope of practice
Confirm that the qualification and registered category match the service being offered. Ask who supervises assistants or trainees.
4. Watch for red flags
Avoid guaranteed cures, pressure to prepay long packages, refusal to show credentials, or advice to stop prescribed medication without the treating doctor.
Use the official register
RCI maintains the Central Rehabilitation Register for qualified rehabilitation and special-education professionals. Registration requirements depend on the professional category.
