Therapy choices & provider quality
Results from neurostimulation used for an acquired nerve injury cannot be assumed to apply to autism, which is a developmental condition. TMS and tDCS are being researched, but evidence is not currently strong enough to support routine use for core autism features. Families considering experimental interventions should discuss evidence, risks, costs, consent and alternatives with an appropriately qualified specialist.
